FEES Celebrates Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week

Fourth Estate Elementary School-Special Education Center has proven once again its genuine support to the “gems of our generation-the special children. SPEC center is actively joined the week-long celebration of   Celebrating Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week with a theme: “Persons with cerebral palsy: One with the community united together for equality and empowering abilities” last September 25-26, 2024. To be able to fully undertake the said activity, SNED teachers and master teacher assigned in SNED program, Mrs. Ginalyn T. Fabros planned out on how to implement this activity with the approval of the school principal, Dr. Teresita S. Rodriguez, which aimed to provide awareness and empowerment of the children with special needs.

A lively and well-participated kick-off program was done on the first day where all the children with special needs, parents, teachers, master teachers and principal show support in the said activity. Selected learners with special needs performed song and dances, such abilities perfectly done by children with disability.

The following day SPED Center conducted seminar for teachers from kinder, grade V and VI intended to empower the teachers in teaching learners with special needs in the inclusive education program which is supported by the Inclusive Education Act of RA 11650. To be able to understand the learners with cerebral palsy and teaching strategies using the modification and accommodation techniques to safeguard the learning process of learners with cerebral palsy was the objective of this seminar.

With these, truly, all the children with cerebral palsy and other learners with disabilities felt their worth and showed to everyone that THEY can also be a responsible citizen of our country, and they can also make difference to everyone.
